Ronald "Ron" H. Pitts, age 78, of Clarksboro, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 9, 1941 to the late Herbert G. and Veronica C. Pitts. Ron graduated Bartram High school in January 1959 in Philadelphia, PA. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara (Bobbie) on May 4, 1963. Ron and Bobbie started their family in Folcroft, PA later settling in Clarksboro, NJ. Ron was a sheet metal assembler for Boeing where he worked on commercial and military aircrafts as well as light rail vehicles, before retiring in 2010, after 47 years of service. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and loved when everyone gathered at the house. His interest included stamps, coins, and anything transportation related, especially antique cars.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife Barbara A. (nee Tayvinsky) of Clarksboro, NJ; daughter, Patricia A. Pugliese (James) of Newfield, NJ; son, Michael R. Pitts (Lisa) of Woolwich Twp., NJ; three grandchildren, Matthew D. Pugliese (April), Alicia M. Pugliese and Nicholas J. Pugliese; brother-in-law, Alex (Buddy) Tayvinsky of Sea Isle City, NJ and sister-in-law, Kathy Pitts of Jeffersonville, PA, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Ronald was predeceased by his parents Veronica C. and Herbert G. Pitts, and brother Dennis Pitts, Sr.
Family and Friends are invited to visit from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Saturday, August 24th at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am, with burial to follow at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Broomall, PA .
