Lucille Sgorlon age 91, of West Deptford passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in NC. She was a daughter to Edwin F. Sweeten and Lucille (Cox Adams). Lucille was partner in her family’s business, Flowers By Sweetens in Woodbury before retiring in 1993.
Friends and family enjoyed her gift of hospitality as she enjoyed hosting parties and serving others joyfully. She was an active member of The Followers women's prayer group, building relationships and studying God’s word for more than 40 years. A life-long member of First Baptist Church in Woodbury, she served on various boards and sang in the choir earlier in her life. As a United States Air Force Family Services Volunteer, she received her 3,000 hour service pin while stationed at Clark Air Base, Philippine Islands.
Wife of the late Liberio "Lindy" Sgorlon, she is survived by her son, Louis Sgorlon and his wife Dawn of Vineland, NJ and daughter, Linda Mander and her husband Wayne of Charlotte, NC, three grandchildren Brianne Sgorlon, Morgan and Christopher Mander, and her sister Helen Huesser. Lucille was predeceased by her brothers, E. Robert Sweeten and Leonard Sweeten.
