Obituary for Dorothy H. Kern (Hunt)

Dorothy Kern (nee Hunt), age 89, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2014. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Reverend George Kern. Devoted mother to William (Doris), Robert (Cynthia), Robin and Carmen. Loving grandmother to Allyson, Donovan, Sawyer, Renee, and Sean. She was predeceased by her grandson Michael. Dorothy has four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin brother William Hunt, and sister Evelyn Trautman pre-deceased by her brother J. Howard Hunt. Dorothy was a faithful volunteer to many organizations over the years. Her beautiful voice was shared with many in South Jersey, Vermont, and Florida. Dorothy’s greatest joy was cooking, baking, and entertaining family and friends. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11 AM at the Clonmell United Methodist Church, 516 W. Broad Street, Gibbstown, NJ 08027. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Clonmell United Methodist Church or ARC Gloucester County 1555 Gateway Blvd. West Deptford, NJ.
