Obituary for Doris Emily Alberto (Dyer)

Doris Emily Dyer Anzaldo Alberto, age 91, of United Methodist Communities Pitman, died on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Doris was born on January 30, 1928 to Anna Mae and George Courtland Dyer in Camden, New Jersey. She grew up in Merchantville, New Jersey. Doris was married to Phillip J. Anzaldo on November 6, 1953, at Kemble Methodist Church in Woodbury, New Jersey. She was later married to Anthony R. Alberto on July 2, 1976 at the Pentecostal Christian Church in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. Doris graduated from Merchantville High School in 1945 and attended Bob Jones College in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Doris was employed at Curtis Publishing Company, Campbell Soup, Mobil Oil, John McMenamy Accounting, and Harrison Township Elementary School. She lived in Merchantville, Woodbury, Wenonah, Mantua, Mullica Hill and Pitman, New Jersey. Doris loved working outside in her gardens and was an enthusiastic painter and artist. For several years she volunteered at the Soup Kitchen in Camden, NJ. She was a member of Kemble Methodist Church and later Trinity Methodist Church in Mullica Hill.

Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie D. Repsher (Charles) and sons, Phillip J. Anzaldo, Jr. (Gretchen) and Michael A. Anzaldo (Sandy); Grandchildren, Melissa G. Nevin, Richard R. Nevin (Elizabeth), Phillip J. Anzaldo, III, Charles H. Repsher, Jr., Emily K. Anzaldo and Amanda M. Anzaldo; Great grandchildren, Avery I. Nevin, Kayla A. Rone and Gabrielle L. Rone.

There will be a private family celebration of her life at Smith Funeral Home in Mantua, New Jersey, followed by a burial at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, New Jersey.
